At WeMile, we believe trust begins with privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Eaglet Pip LLC ("WeMile," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the WeMile mobile application, website (including WeMile K12), and related services.
By using WeMile, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Your use of WeMile is also governed by our Terms and Conditions, which describe your responsibilities when using the Services, including carpool participation, notifications, and platform limitations.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account or use WeMile, we may collect:
- Name or screen name
- Email address
- Phone number
- School affiliation
- Profile information
- Carpool preferences
- Messages exchanged through WeMile
- Support requests and communications
Location Information
With your permission, WeMile may collect location information to support carpool features such as:
- Trip detection
- Carpool tracking
- Arrival notifications
- Departure notifications
- Live location sharing during active carpool activities
WeMile is designed specifically for carpooling. WeMile may receive motion, activity, or location events from your device to determine whether a carpool trip may be occurring. Trips outside configured carpool schedules are not processed for carpool tracking, metrics, or notifications.
Location data is processed to support configured carpool activities and related features.
Motion and Activity Information
With your permission, WeMile may collect motion and activity information provided by your device to help determine when a carpool trip may be occurring. This information is used solely to support carpool-related features.
Device Information
We may collect:
- Device type
- Operating system
- Application version
- Crash reports
- Diagnostic information
This information helps improve the reliability and performance of WeMile.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Connect users with carpool partners
- Facilitate communication between members
- Support trip tracking and notifications
- Generate participation metrics
- Improve product functionality
- Respond to support requests
- Protect users and prevent abuse
- Generate carpool reminders and arrival/departure notifications
Information Sharing
We Do Not Sell Personal Information
WeMile does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.
Information Shared With Other Members
WeMile is designed to protect privacy. Other users do not automatically receive access to your:
- Phone number
- Home address
- Email address
- Personal contact information
Users decide when and what information they choose to share with others.
School Verification Programs
Participating schools may distribute verification codes to help limit access to a school community. WeMile does not provide schools with private user messages, location history, phone numbers, or personal account information unless required by law or authorized by the user.
Information Not Shared With Schools or Organizations
Participating schools, PTAs, PTOs, employers, commute coordinators, and other organizations do not receive access to private messages, user location history, phone numbers, home addresses, or personal account information unless explicitly authorized by the user or required by law.
Service Providers
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate WeMile, including:
- Cloud hosting providers
- Authentication providers
- Messaging providers
- Analytics providers
These providers may access information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WeMile, users, or others.
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to:
- Operate the Services
- Maintain user accounts
- Provide support
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
We may delete or anonymize information that is no longer needed.
Your Choices

- Update profile information
- Disable notifications
- Revoke location permissions
- Revoke activity permissions
- Leave carpool groups
- Delete your account
Certain features may become unavailable if required permissions are disabled.
Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion through the app or by contacting: support@wemile.app
We will make reasonable efforts to process deletion requests within 30 days.
Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize personal information unless retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.
Children's Privacy
WeMile is intended for use by adults. Parents and guardians are responsible for information they provide regarding their children in connection with carpool activities. WeMile does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
International Users
Information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted with an updated effective date. Continued use of WeMile after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
